If you were local to Edmonton or Sherwood Park in the 1960's or 70's, you probably visited this area on a school field trip. This parcel was owned by Al Oeming and was part of the Polar Park/The Alberta Game Farm.

Al Oeming (April 9, 1925 – March 17, 2014) was a Canadian wildlife conservationist, zoologist, professional wrestler and wrestling promoter. Oeming co-founded the professional wrestling promotion Stampede Wrestling and owned the largest game farm in North America.

Oeming wrestled for the Capitol Wrestling Corporation in the 1940s on the urging of his boyhood neighbor Stu Hart whom he also served in the Royal Canadian Navy together with during World War Two. He later co-founded the Stampede Wrestling promotion with Hart in 1948.

We don't have any wild buffalo, cheetas or antelope roaming the land now, but there's a lot of rich history from the past on this property.

The land is being used in a whole different way now. And we're proud to say no animals are caged here any longer.
